My Story
About us
I recently completed my first 10 K (post-diagnosis) in Westonbirt and have now decided to sign up for the amazing Vitality London 10 K to raise money for the incredible charity, Shine!
As you will know, I have been living with breast cancer for 3 years now and am at the stage where I will never be cured. I endure constant treatment, scans, tests....life is a continuous rollercoaster and is exhausting for me and my family.
Shine has been brilliant and such a good resource to lean on, as a 'younger' person with cancer, it has been so refreshing to meet others just like me - wives, mums, sisters, friends...just going about their life before the worst thing that could ever happen, happens.
I try to stay healthy, and this is largely down to my husband (who is also an ultra-marathon runner and coach!), who motivates me, gets me off my arse when I don't want to, and is my never-ending support throughout this. Participating in any physical activity while undergoing constant treatment is very challenging. Some days, it's a struggle to get out of bed. I would greatly appreciate your support in completing this 10k and raising money for a fantastic cause in the process, which is my primary motivation (and a finish in front of Buckingham Palace!)
Thank you and much love!
